Who What Wear x Target

Style Detail Highlight: The Paperbag Waist

Style Detail Highlight: The Paperbag Waist | Designing From My Closet

Looking through the latest fashion magazines, one silhouette that stood out to me strongly was the paperbag waist.  The highwaisted cut of pants and skirts with pleats that gather around the waist with a sash belt is not a new idea as it has been cycled through trends throughout the years.  For me, it is a cut that has always appealed to me, but in the past I have allowed insecurities about my body shape deter me away from actually wearing it.  Now that I have fully embraced myself, I am overjoyed to be wearing the fun fashion of the paperbag waist!

Style Detail Highlight: The Statement Sleeve

Style Detail Highlight: The Statement Sleeve | Designing From My Closet

The statement sleeve is a style detail that is being seen on high end and more budget friendly items.  Any sort of embellishment, cut out, or dramatic shape including pleats and trumpet and bell shapes.  Some are more subtle, while others shout “here I am”, in other words, this trend has a little something for everyone.

Spring 2017 Who What Wear Collection Lookbook

Spring 2017 Who What Wear Collection Lookbook | Designing From My Closet

In the past I have been impressed with the Who What Wear Collection at Target, but this Spring, they have really blown it out of the water!  I fell in love with so many of their pieces that I had to put a lookbook together for you.  The items are so easy to wear and pair not only with items from past collections, but also with items I already had in my closet plus thrifted finds.  Today I have four looks to share with you showing items from the Spring 2017 Who What Wear Collection.

Style Detail Highlight: Olive

Style Detail Highlight: Olive | Designing From My Closet

Today is a continuation of my Style Detail Highlight series where I focus on a specific style topic, with this post being on color, olive green to be more exact.  You can click here to see my other posts in this series.  There always seems to be a trend in colors, but there are always those that stay true with little variation.  Olive is one of those tones that turns up year after year, season after season and I for one am pleased about that.

Wearing Pastels in the Fall

Wearing Pastels in the Fall | Designing From My Closet

Fall fashion is typically associated with deep rich colors that usher in a new season.  Pastels on the other hand are usually seen more in the spring and summer months, so mixing them into fall outfits are a fun way to keep things from getting boring, especially here at the end of the fall season when you are looking at the same items over and over again.  Today I am wearing a mauve pleated skirt in a fall look.
