Skinny Jeans

Skinny Jeans: My Fall Staple

Skinny Jeans: My Fall Staple | Designing From My Closet

When it comes to getting dressed this fall, I seem to be gravitating more and more to jeans.  And just because an outfit has jeans, it doesn’t mean it is not put together or appropriate for client meetings.  Today I wanted to show a simple combination of pieces I thrifted using some skinny jeans.  It is so easy and it can be adapted to what you may already have in your own closet.  I have also compiled a shopping list with links at the end with similar options to what I am wearing at the end of the post.

Feeling Blessed in an Arabesque Print & Ruffles | Designing From My Closet

These past few years have been a roller coaster.  Designing From My Closet represents so much more than fashion to me.  When I first created it I was a woman who was searching for change, internal peace, personal identity, and purpose.  After a series of upsetting circumstances and seeing my fortieth birthday approaching, I knew I needed to disrupt the known pattern of my life.

Thanksgiving Ready with Avenue | Designing From My Closet

As a young girl, Thanksgiving was a time to get together with extended family that I had not seen since the year prior.  With my mom being much younger than her siblings, I was the youngest in the large group as my cousins were ten plus years older than me.  Because of that, I was usually doted on and was asked a series of questions about what I had done over the past year.  I soaked in the attention and always put thought into what I was going to say days before.  The younger kids, including myself, my sisters, and some of my cousins would also perform a talent show for everyone from singing to dancing to speech reciting, typically a performance that we had learned from school or an extra curricular activity.  It was truly a full day of visiting, cooking, eating, resting, and loads of picture taking from very early in the morning to late into the evening.  And with all of those pictures being taken, I always wanted to look my best.  I remember picking out what I was going to wear with my mom in advance.

To this day, I still think of Thanksgiving as more than just a meal, it is a time for digging deeper into getting to know those we love and to show appreciation towards them.  It is a time for me to still wear something thoughtful.  I always look for something that represents who I am that year as well as being cozy and comfortable.  Today I am showing you an outfit that is Thanksgiving ready, full of style and ease all from Avenue.

Ashley Nell Tipton for Boutique+ Fall 2016 Lookbook | Designing From My Closet

After giving you a review on the Ashley Nell Tipton for Boutique+ line at JCPenney in my inside the fitting room post and my at home try on of my order post, today I am styling the pieces I got in a special Lookbook along with a video.  I wanted to join in on the #HereIAm campaign and share something to women that was inspiring beyond just the fashion.  Thank you for being a part of the Designing From My Closet community as I so appreciate my readers.  You are all so beautiful.
