Skinny Jeans: My Fall Staple

Skinny Jeans: My Fall Staple | Designing From My Closet

When it comes to getting dressed this fall, I seem to be gravitating more and more to jeans.  And just because an outfit has jeans, it doesn’t mean it is not put together or appropriate for client meetings.  Today I wanted to show a simple combination of pieces I thrifted using some skinny jeans.  It is so easy and it can be adapted to what you may already have in your own closet.  I have also compiled a shopping list with links at the end with similar options to what I am wearing at the end of the post.

A great printed button down shirt is one way to really dress up some jeans.  I love this Anthropologie one that has an art deco style floral in navy blue and creams.  The longer length of the top allows me to feel very comfortable with the more body hugging bottoms.  These Joe’s Jeans happen to be one of my favorites at the moment.  They are so super comfy and they fit like a dream.

A long cream cardigan with delicate details adds even more length.  This is also an Anthropologie piece I found.  I love how the “winter white” brightens up this entire look.  For my accessories, I selected a wood bead necklace to pick up on the tones in the top.  The earthy element gives a great quality to the look along with providing more texture.

On my feet, I have a pair of Lucky Brand peep toe booties that have a great little heel that is super comfortable to wear all day.  Then to pick up on the blush color in the top, I selected a pink fold over clutch with a tassel.  All of these small details in each of the pieces come together to create an interesting look in a very approachable way.

Creating outfits is a passion of mine and I enjoy doing it for myself and for my clients.  As I mentioned before, my entire look shown here is second hand.  Curating Thrift Boxes is just one way I can put together outfits for clients utilizing my second hand finds.  If you are interested in working with me by ordering a Thrift Box, taking you out for a shopping session (in Orange County only), or by helping you create outfits with the items you already have in your closet (in person or virtually), please let me know, so we can set up an appointment.

To shop similar looking items retail, the links are below in blue text.  The top row is straight sizes, the middle row is plus sizes, and the bottom row is accessories.

  1. What a great look, Janeane! Skinny jeans are such a staple, aren’t they? Though recently I’ve found myself playing with wide leg jeans !more and more. I love, love this cardigan! The dual textures really add interest to the piece!
