My Spring Must Haves | Designing From My Closet

It has been so refreshing to actually get cold weather in wintertime here in Southern California as we rarely get to experience the different seasons.  I have been reminded of winter seasons in life as well and how they are much needed to then look forward to the fresh start and new growth that Spring brings.  As I look ahead to the coming months, I am being intentional with what I am bringing into my wardrobe and today I wanted to show you a few of my “Must Have’s” I found at Avenue.

COLD SHOULDER SHIRT

Although the cold shoulder trend has been around a while, it is still going strong this spring.  I for one am newer to sporting this style and fell in love with the Denim Cold Shoulder Shirt.  It is a super soft and flowy chambray with a very large cut out at the top of the sleeve.  The slits on the sides allowed me to leave the back loose, hanging down over my jeans as I tied the front in a knot.  It looks just as cute left loose and tucked in.

WHITE HANDBAG

White in and of itself has always been something I think of when Spring comes around, so when I saw the Silvera Herringbone Satchel, I knew it was a handbag I wanted to have in my collection.  What I love about it is that it has that fresh brightness that pops off any outfit and also incorporates my love of texture and print with the side panels being a herringbone textile.

SUNGLASSES COLLECTION + CHOKER NECKLACE

One item that has never been on my radar until recently has been sunglasses.  I have found I enjoy changing them out according to my mood and outfit, so a mini collection is fun to have.  The Alexa Hex Sunglasses have a large angular frame with gold details on the sides.

Another trend that is still going very strong is that of choker necklaces.  I love that this Choker and Tassel Pendant Necklace Set can be worn together like I am here or separately, so it is like having three looks with one purchase!

Now continuing with my sunglasses collection, I stayed with the same tortoise shell color family as the first pair, but the Je T’aime Cateye Sunglasses have a much more classic shape and have a pretty gold chain detail on the side.

To round out my collection I wanted to add a bit of color and the Blush Delta Sunglasses fit the bill.  They have an ombre tint on the lenses that are so dramatic.  These large frames and the light pink color look so good with so many styles of clothing.

KIMONO

I personally have claimed it “the year of the kimono”!  So when I saw the Crochet Trim Neutral Kimono on the Avenue website, I knew I had to get it.  It is super light and filmy with a arabesque print all over it.  Then for even more added detail there is a tonal leave pattern that cascades down the front and sleeves.  A light cream crochet trim makes this kimono a true keeper for me.

EXTRA LONG NECKLACE

Extra long necklaces graced the runways for Spring 2017 and I am loving the look.  The Triple Ring Bolo Necklace is absolutely gorgeous and can go with so many styles.

Those are my Spring 2017 picks from Avenue.  What are you loving about the new and upcoming Spring season?
