A few weeks ago I ventured back into Dress Barn after not setting foot in a store for years.  I used to shop there when I was a professional interior designer and loved the plus size selections that they had.  After doing an “Inside the Fitting Room” video on my YouTube channel, Dress Barn contacted me to see if I would like to do a post featuring a Spring outfit.  I was overjoyed to style up a look from their latest arrivals.  Although we have more than six weeks left of winter, as a wardrobe stylist, I am always looking ahead to prepare for the upcoming months.

Floral prints and the Spring season go hand in hand, so when I saw this dress covered in blooms, I kind of flipped.

The Belted Floral Chiffon Maxi Dress has a surplice top and faux wrap skirt.  A ruffle cascades down the front and hemline that is just so dreamy.  With a deep blue background, the multi color flowers pop in tones of orange and purple.  It is made of a soft chiffon and has a built in lining that ends at the knee.  When you walk, this dress just moves so beautifully.

To add a bit of sparkle, I selected a long gold tone necklace featuring rings, discs, and chain.  I love how it is a statement without competing with the bold print of the dress.

I had never tried on a pair of Dress Barn shoes, so I was excited to try on the Dee Dierdra Braided Open Toe Heel.  Although the heel is a little thinner than my usual chunky heel, it still is sturdy enough to give me confidence when walking with my hip after surgery.  I love the braided detail down the front so much!

I honestly did not want to take this dress off after I took these pictures even though I was freezing because I felt so pretty in it.  For now, it is set and ready to wear once Spring and Summer come around.  I now would love the chance to take clients into Dress Barn to dress them or virtually and plan an outfit or two or three!

A majority of their items come in the same style in both misses and plus sizes.  This dress however was exclusive to the misses section, where I saw other beautiful dresses in the plus section exclusive to that size range.  I thought this blue ruffled dress had the same essence of the dress I selected.

And in case you did not catch it, here is the video I mentioned earlier when I tried on several other items for spring at Dress Barn.

Today’s Postivity Note

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

 Be Blessed!
