Valentine’s Day Lookbook

Valentine's Day Lookbook | Designing From My Closet

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and I wanted to put together a lookbook that was centered around the color pink.  These looks meant for inspiration have one thing in common besides the color pink and that is having a touch of romance.  And just because it is Valentine’s Day does not mean that you have to get super dressed up.  I lead a very relaxed lifestyle and my husband and I enjoy laid back dates.  With all that in mind I came up with two more casual looks and two dressed up looks.

Pink comes in many different shades and tones, so my four outfits encompass several.  I named each one appropriately to pay homage to the color.

Dusty Rose

This dusty rose t-shirt still has a touch of romance to it with the lace inset at the neckline and shoulder.  Paired with a lighter mauve floral bomber jacket and a darker raisin colored jean, this casual look still evokes a feminine touch.  Lace up flats give even more of a girly flair while still keeping it comfy.

Hot Pink

I have always loved the color fuchsia and this skirt does not get worn nearly as much as I would like.  The chiffon on both the skirt and floral print peplum top gives a dressed up feel, while the distressed denim jacket tones it down a bit.  Short chunky heel shoes give a little lift while still being able to walk around on date night.

Coral Pink

These coral pink jeans were actually much darker and brighter when I first got them.  I bleached them out for a sunwashed effect and love the look.  This color combination of pink, olive green, and blue give a new twist to a Valentine’s Day outfit.  I love how the red shoes pop next to the pink pants too.  The romance really comes to play with a sparkly necklace that has touches of raffia.

Blush Pink

What could be more romantic that a full tulle skirt?  This blush pink one is from Target and is super soft.  To keep it from going too ballerina, I paired it with a canvas utility jacket and it tones it down just right.  Leather booties edge up this ultra feminine look as well.

Almost everything shown in this Lookbook is either thrifted or items I have had in my closet for a while.  I am getting ready to launch a new service to offer Thrift Boxes and I am so excited about it.  So if you are ready to get styled by me along with getting some great fashion, be sure to keep an eye out for news on this latest venture of mine!

  1. Janeane, I love these looks. I used to be a pink-o-phobic, partly because my spouse was anti pink….I know! He’s silly. But now I love pink and he doesn’t seem to mind it on me. You look fabulous! Love those red shoes with the coral pink pants and the tulle skirt is so pretty! All of them are great looks for Valentines Day! Thanks for sharing. – Amy

    1. I was partial to pink because I had an all pink bedroom growing up that my mom loved. I think I was on pink overload! Now I am loving all the different shades and tones in comes in. Great to hear you are loving it again too. Thanks!
