Avenue Shootie Lookbook | Designing From My Closet

Shoes…I have a thing for them.  They have a way of completing an outfit by adding texture, color, and other interesting details.  One type of shoe that I have been crazy about for a while has been the shootie.  A shootie is pretty much the equation to a regular shoe and a bootie having a baby.  A cross between having your feet totally exposed and covered, the shootie is the perfect shoe for the upcoming spring season.  Today I have a three piece Shootie Lookbook featuring Avenue and their amazing wide width footwear line Cloudwalkers.  And for those of you who do not wear wide width, I have finally figured out the trick by sizing down a half a size for a good fit.

Within this Shootie Lookbook, you will notice that I am also sharing a simple outfit remix formula that is easy to follow.  All three outfits are featuring a lace up poncho in a neutral beige and leggings.  To create slightly different looks, I keep the poncho, swap out different colors of leggings, layer the poncho over a different colored tee, and of course, change out the shoes.  It’s all about expanding your wardrobe and remixing!

1- The Cutout Shootie

The Val Cutout Shootie comes in a dark rich brown that goes with almost any color.  I love the geometric shapes in the cut outs that give them a modern feel.  The brown paired with the black leggings brings an unexpected touch.

2- The Seamed Shootie

The Remi Seamed Peep Toe Shootie features special details like an angled outside zipper and mottled taupe faux leather.  I love the texture it provides with the rows of seams that go across the entire front of the shoe.  For a slight contrast, I paired these with my brown ribbed velour leggings.  They are the edgy chic shootie in this round up.

3- The Lace Up Shootie

The Mia Perforated Shootie in a blushy tan feature many feminine touches including a lace up detail.  There is a zipper on the back of the shoe, so the laces only need to be adjusted the first time you ever put them on for a custom fit.  For a little more color, I paired these with my ponte knit jeans.

All three of these shooties + the poncho are great additions to my closet and will be in full rotation once warmer weather comes around.  You can see all of the other great shoes Avenue has by clicking here.

  1. I’m with you—shoes are the best!! It always amazes me when women say they could care less about shoes, because they make my heart go pitter patter!! I blame my mother (the 70’s model on my blog) though—she has a shoe obsession also!

  2. Thanks for doing this post about these shooties. I have a pretty severe case of varicose veins and this includes my feet. Those seamed shooties would be great because they still cover the foot, but let pretty painted toes peek out. I love that lace up poncho…very cute. Thanks for sharing, Janeane! Have a great weekend. – Amy
