How to Create an Outfit with Multiple Colors

How to Create an Outfit with Multiple Colors | Designing From My Closet

Wearing color, in any season, can be such a lively look.  Mixing colors into one outfit may be a challenge, but there is way sure fire way that I use to ensure it looks cohesive.  Today I am sharing an easy way to create an outfit with multiple colors.

Step 1: Select an article of clothing with a multi-color print that you like.

For me, that meant an oversized, quilted floral sweatshirt.  It has plum, gray, and coral-pink blooms on a cream background.

Step 2: Select solid supporting garments and accessories using colors from your print.

Picking up on the darker plum of the flowers, I chose to pair this sweatshirt with raisin colored jeans.  And then on my feet, some gray mules, which is a darker tone of the light gray in the print.

The cream and coral-pink are also used through a striped fringe scarf that adds even another print.  Style tip: florals and stripes together are one of the easiest ways to print mix.

By using the multi-colored print as a palette to choose everything else, you can easily create a colorful outfit that has great interest.
