Today is a continuation of my Style Detail Highlight series where I focus on a specific style topic, with this post being on color, olive green to be more exact. You can click here to see my other posts in this series. There always seems to be a trend in colors, but there are always those that stay true with little variation. Olive is one of those tones that turns up year after year, season after season and I for one am pleased about that.
Why do I love the olive color so much? The first reason is because it is so complimentary to almost every skin tone. It is one of those magical tones that is pretty much universal for every woman.
Secondly, olive green can be treated as a neutral or as a color in an outfit palette. In today’s look the faux leather pencil skirt acts as a neutral along with navy blue, brown, white, yellow, pink, gray, and maroon. It is such a great alternative to black or brown as well while providing an instant style elevation.
Give it a try the next time you are pulling an outfit together. You may be surprised how far a little olive can take you!
