Fall fashion is typically associated with deep rich colors that usher in a new season. Pastels on the other hand are usually seen more in the spring and summer months, so mixing them into fall outfits are a fun way to keep things from getting boring, especially here at the end of the fall season when you are looking at the same items over and over again. Today I am wearing a mauve pleated skirt in a fall look.
This faux leather midi skirt is from the Ashley Nell Tipton for Boutique+ line at JCPenney and I adore it. To give it a great fall flavor, I paired it with a black and white tank and dark denim jacket. The darker colors ground the pastel color and bridge that gap between seasons.
Warm colored accessories such as rich brown cut out shoes, camel colored satchel, and gold tone bangles bring more autumnal vibes to the overall outfit. To complete the look, a multi strand necklace incorporating the pink tone of the skirt bring total continuity.
One thing I have been a stickler about for some reason is to show handbags in each one of my outfit posts. It can really make or break an entire look. For this one, it is really incorporated by wearing it with the cross body straps. This outfit was perfect for a day of shopping for a client and it kept my hands free to look over my selections without having to worry about keeping an eye on my bag.
