As a young girl, Thanksgiving was a time to get together with extended family that I had not seen since the year prior. With my mom being much younger than her siblings, I was the youngest in the large group as my cousins were ten plus years older than me. Because of that, I was usually doted on and was asked a series of questions about what I had done over the past year. I soaked in the attention and always put thought into what I was going to say days before. The younger kids, including myself, my sisters, and some of my cousins would also perform a talent show for everyone from singing to dancing to speech reciting, typically a performance that we had learned from school or an extra curricular activity. It was truly a full day of visiting, cooking, eating, resting, and loads of picture taking from very early in the morning to late into the evening. And with all of those pictures being taken, I always wanted to look my best. I remember picking out what I was going to wear with my mom in advance.
To this day, I still think of Thanksgiving as more than just a meal, it is a time for digging deeper into getting to know those we love and to show appreciation towards them. It is a time for me to still wear something thoughtful. I always look for something that represents who I am that year as well as being cozy and comfortable. Today I am showing you an outfit that is Thanksgiving ready, full of style and ease all from Avenue.
What could be more cozy and comfy than a soft pullover sweater? This mixed stitch cowl neck sweater is so chic, yet loose enough for me to lounge around in while dining and visiting. The cream color brightens my skin tone and hair so beautifully and I love how my curls hang over the big collar. I adore the stitching all over it that gives a great tone on tone pattern. With it’s tunic length, I thought it was perfect for placing over some skinny jeans.
These butter denim pull on skinnies blew me away when I got them. They are so incredibly soft and the wide waistband is unbelievably comfortable. The stretch is perfect for moving around, sitting, and perhaps partaking in a few bites of pumpkin pie. The stitch work detail down the legs was something I was not expecting and it is for sure a special feature of these jeans. I got these in petite sizing and love that I don’t have to mess around with tugging and pulling my pants around, which is what happens typically with average length. I love that Avenue has options for petite, average, and tall lengths in quite a few of their pants and denim selections.
I have to admit that these boots were the first item I selected when creating this outfit and based everything around them. My heart skipped a beat when I saw them online because of the mixed media including faux leather, faux suede, and faux fur. And not to mention they have the strap detail, long tassels on the back zipper that dance when I walk, and a heel height that is manageable.

The handbag shown in this post is from my own closet and is a combination of a scarf and a bucket bag. See the short video I posted on how I achieved the look:
