Four Ways to Wear a Swing Top

Over these past couple of years, I have come to appreciate the swing top and all it has to offer.  A swing top is a shirt, usually short sleeved, that is made to hang loosely past the widest part of the bust.  Some may consider this billowing top as a way to hide your body, but I have found this silhouette to be quite easy to style and very flattering.  Today I am featuring one swing top from my closet styled four ways.  While mine is a colorful print, these tips can be applied to any swing top that is neutral or solid.

With a Cardigan & Belted

My cardigan happens to have this sash attached, but a belt or ribbon can be added to any cardigan that does not come with a belt.  The nature of a swing top is to hang loose, the belt gives it the shape of a peplum.

With a Jacket

By popping on a jacket that has a closer fit, the swing top takes on that same shape without loosing its tummy skimming qualities.  The open jacket creates a vertical panel in the middle of the body.

Knotted

For a lovely casual look, knot the front of the swing top.  It gives the top a draping effect that you can adjust to your liking.

Tucked In

Tucking in a swing top into a skirt or pants results in a beautifully blousen look.  You can adjust to how tight or loose you want it bloused out.
