The Skirt That Could Have Been

If you are not aware by some of my previous ReFashion and DIY posts I have done in the past, I love to get secondhand items or items I am no longer wearing from my closet and turn them into something new.  And that was the entire idea behind purchasing an Eloquii textured yellow skirt off of Poshmark.  There was a skirt I had seen at Anthropologie with a large painted flower on it and I wanted to create one of my own in a size that would fit me.  I was overjoyed to say the least when I first received the skirt and tried it on immediately.  Since it was a midi skirt, I also had plans to shorten it to knee length as well as paint it myself and show off my skills in a blog post to you!

Well, as life goes, things change.  As I slowly recover from my hip surgery I had in January, my lifestyle has completely changed with my eating habits and physical activity which is leading to some weight loss.  Since I am quickly not fitting into a lot of the current sizes I have in my closet, I decided to wear this skirt a few weeks ago in its original form for one time, then place it back for sale in my Poshmark closet.  Also, if you had your eye on some items I have shown here on the blog, I may be listing them because they no longer fit me, so be sure to check Poshmark out if you are not following me there already.  Sign up using my referral code BYKEJ and get a $5 credit towards your first purchase.

Anyhow, this was such a pretty outfit, I wanted to share it with you and give a little inspiration.

I shopped my closet and selected a light pink tank, an Aztec print bomber jacket layered, and a multi strand necklace that ties in every color is my version of a lady-like global feel.  This skirt that could have been something else for me will hopefully find a new home because I absolutely love it and it deserves to be worn.

I have also been avoiding coloring my hair as you can see from my gray and roots.  My scalp was in perfect health when I used the Moisture Scentation product by Abba.  When the company closed, I went into a heavy search to find a shampoo and conditioner with mint that could treat my scalp the way this wonderful product did with little luck.  I have tried several other brands, but nothing is really working effectively.  As a result, I now have open sores on my scalp that are extremely painful so I have not been too anxious to put dye on my head.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a scalp treatment shampoo and conditioner with mint?

  1. Another great outfit! Sorry you didn’t get a chance to make your dream skirt happen, but life happens and things change. Luckily for us Poshers, you can put it back up for grabs and move on to something new! I hope you are feeling better soon. There are many more times ahead, keep dreaming up those fun ideas! Can’t wait to read about your next DIY project!
