I do not think I have ever shared this on the blog before, but years ago I used to have my own business where I made home decor pieces. The items I designed and created were made of wood and I would paint each piece by hand. When I say they were made of wood, I mean I went to the lumber yard, got slabs of pine, and would cut out my own designs using a scroll saw. I made everything from yard stakes, to table top decor, to custom orders. Ever since then I have had an affinity for wood. I destinctly remember the smell of the pine as it cut through the blade.
Nowadays, I have found my love for wood has bled into my fashion through jewelry. Another reason I now am drawn to adorn myself with wood is the symbolism behind it. It represents beauty, strength, and wisdom.
I have amassed quite a collection of wood necklaces, bracelets, and rings all with a distinct style of their own. I compiled images of most of the pieces I own to show how great and versatile these pieces made from nature can be. Some are older and some are still available so I will link to those that are. At the end of the post I will also have more wood jewelry options that I have my eye on.
Dovetail Bib Necklace from Anthropologie
I got this statement wood necklace second hand on Poshmark. It is my favorite go-to place to shop for Anthropologie necklaces for a fraction of the price. Find me on Poshmark under user name j9design or if you are not signed up for shopping on this fabulous shopping app, sign up using referral code BYKEJ to get $10 credit towards your first purchase. This outfit is coming up in a future blog post, so keep an eye out!
Wood Statement Ring from Charming Charlie
For some reason, I have never been able to find this ring on the Charming Charlie website to link, but I still see it in the store, so if you are interested, I encourage you to check it out. It has a way of going with everything and I love the richness it provides without being over the top even though it is rather large in size.
Purple & Orange Necklace from Anthropologie
This was one of my first Anthropologie necklaces I ever purchased several years ago. You would think that a piece that is orange, purple, and green would not be something you could wear very often, but I am surprised how it has blended so well into my wardrobe.
Wharf Link Necklace from Charming Charlie
I have gotten a lot of response when it comes to this wood and brass ring necklace. It is simple, yet it is so unique and beautiful. I saw a similar one at Anthropologie not that long ago for a much higher price point.
Wide Wood & Resin Bangle from Express
This bangle was a total impulse buy as well as an unexpected find as I do not typically shop at Express, but I am so glad I did. I love how it has so many elements to it and resembles inlay work of antique furniture.
Cream and Grey Handcrafted Beaded Necklace from Sylca Designs
It was such a pleasure to feature Sylca Designs here on Designing From My Closet. They have some of the most beautiful wood jewelry pieces I have ever seen and I will be getting more pieces from them in the future.
Beaded Tassel Necklace Duo from Kelly’s Closet on Poshmark
I picked up this set of two necklaces from Kelly on Poshmark. I believe she makes these necklaces and has a few more designs in the same materials. Check out Kelly’s closet (username @knel88) to see what she has available.
Wood & Resin Bangle Set from Charming Charlie
I was so excited when I saw this bangle set about a year ago at Charming Charlie. I had seen a similar set at Anthropologie and they did not fit over my hand, so I was thrilled when these were able to. I love how I can still wear a colorful statement necklace with these and not feel like they are too much.
Wood and Rope Collar Necklace from Forever 21
This is one necklace that has really surprised me. There is not a whole lot to it, but it makes a beautiful impact. I did add a little length to the chain on the back so I could wear it a little longer if I want though. Some of the reviews on the F21 site said that people had issues with it laying correctly on the neck, but I have never had any issues with it.
Sadie Wood Long Necklace from Charming Charlie
I love how this necklace is a tiny bit modern and a tiny bit nautical all at the same time. It has painted parts in black and white that make it super funky. It is also extremely lightweight.
Wooden Beads Tassel Necklace from Charming Charlie
This fun little number fits more of my boho looks perfectly with the navy faux leather tassel. It brings something special to any outfit.
Here are a few more wood jewelry pieces I found:
