Have you ever had one of those moments where you see an outfit that stops you in your tracks only to realize you know the reason is because you have everything you need to re-create it already in your closet?

Well that was me when I saw this picture on the Old Navy Instagram account of a blogger wearing one of their patterned coats (that I have) layered with a faux fur stole.  I have featured the coat a few times before here on the blog, but knew I had to show it again styled this way, especially before it gets too warm to even look at a coat, let alone a fur.  Low and behold, it was actually cold one day here in California and I jumped at the chance to sport this new look.

I am always looking for ways where I can bring out my grandmothers vintage fur stole that I inherited.  It looks so beautiful in this setting and I always feel close to her when I wrap it around my shoulders, almost like she is giving me a hug from heaven.  So when I slipped it on over this ensemble, I felt her love and support.  Although the fur only gets worn at home and for pictures, I still love the way it looks.

This Ava + Viv chambray dress has long sleeves and comes with a matching tie sash, but I folded up the sleeves and swapped the tie for a brown belt I had.  Since I love the look of three quarter sleeve length on me, I pushed up the sleeves on the coat as well.  And if you do not know by now, I am an accessories junky, so I added a few more than the inspiration look that include a long necklace with wood circles and an amethyst stone cuff.  I love the combination of the blue of the coat and purple of the stone.  My trusty fringe handbag that has been shown here more times than I can count and flat ankle boots complete the look.

PS-This patterned coat is on sale, so get it while you can!
