One article of clothing that has totally surprised me this year has to be the vest. In the form of a sleeveless jacket or cardigan, several vests have made their way into my closet starting in the Spring and it has not stopped as we begin to enter into Winter. It has become an extremely versatile piece to add a layer without getting me overheated in the California temperatures.
When Avenue asked me if I would like to feature their Smocked Faux Leather Vest, I jumped at the opportunity. They gifted me this lovely piece that I know I will be using for a long time to come. I am partial to the warmth of the cognac color, but this vest comes in black as well.
Styling this neutral layer was easy and I wanted to show an example of one of my go-to fall outfits. To keep things light and bright, I paired the vest with my white denim and an abstract floral blouse in peach and blue tones.
The entire look has a bohemian vibe that is so on trend. I love how this vest has a smocked detail at the waist on both sides. It is lined too, so it is perfect for adding just the right amount of warmth on a crisp autumn day. I picked up on the colors in the blouse by selecting a clutch with blue and burgundy flats. I have already worn this neutral vest with a patterned midi skirt and light weight sweater for another look.
