My Thrifted Jacket

Thrifting has become a love-hate relationship for me recently.  As much as I enjoy the thrill of the hunt and getting a good deal, the shopping experience (or lack there of) and time investment has me going to local thrift shops less and less.  Regardless of my feelings, a recent stop into Goodwill proved to be fruitful when I came across this Chico’s brand laser cut faux suede jacket for half off.Chicos Faux Suede Jacket with an Anthropologie Floral Blouse and Ava + Viv Green Pants | Designing From My Closet | Plus & Inbetweenie Fashion BlogThe details like the open drape front and float-away swing cut appealed to my vintage style sensibilities so I took the plunge and purchased it for a whopping $3.  The neutral light tan color can go with practically anything in my closet, so I knew it would be a perfect fit.  Although the laser cut leaf pattern is in fact a pattern, I am treating it like a texture that can be paired with other prints like this multi colored floral blouse I got from Anthropologie a while ago.Chicos Faux Suede Jacket with an Anthropologie Floral Blouse and Ava + Viv Green Pants | Designing From My Closet | Plus & Inbetweenie Fashion BlogScalloped edges make this jacket special.  I feel like it is a good mix of sweet and edgy.  Sometimes pieces have all the detail on the front so I love it when interest is also on the back. Chicos Faux Suede Jacket with an Anthropologie Floral Blouse and Ava + Viv Green Pants | Designing From My Closet | Plus & Inbetweenie Fashion BlogAnother second hand item I am sporting is this green statement necklace.  This ginormous stone caught my attention when I saw a similar one in the movie Spy (I love Melissa McCarthy).  It is a much cheaper version from Forever 21 that I scored on Poshmark.  Green is my favorite color and it looks so good with my green pants.Chicos Faux Suede Jacket with an Anthropologie Floral Blouse and Ava + Viv Green Pants | Designing From My Closet | Plus & Inbetweenie Fashion BlogOne thing I do not like about this look is that these pants shrunk after I washed them and they are a little snug around the thigh for my taste.  I adore the color though so I am working with them regardless.  Overall, this modern vintage outfit is perfect for a California fall day.Chicos Faux Suede Jacket with an Anthropologie Floral Blouse and Ava + Viv Green Pants | Designing From My Closet | Plus & Inbetweenie Fashion BlogHave you thrifted anything lately?  I would love to hear what you got in the comments!

  1. This is such a fantastic find, especially for the price! I feel ya on the time it takes to thrift shop–nowadays, I really have to be in the mood to look in the thrift stores, otherwise, I just browse Poshmark and Thredup from home 🙂 Love this look!

    1. I know! I hardly ever find items on sale at Goodwill that work for me. And don’t even get me started on Poshmark. It is my fav place for second hand shopping.
