Shop With Me: Avenue

Last week I decided to take a visit to my local Avenue and look at some of their new fall items.  When I first started shopping in plus sizes about 10 years ago when I lived in Kansas, I almost exclusively shopped at Avenue.  I love the fit of their pants and denim on me and they always seem to have new prints and mixed media items that fit my style.

In keeping with my Shop With Me posts, I took a video to document my shopping trip there.

Do you shop at Avenue?  If so, what have you found that you like?

  1. I love your videos because I feel like I’m there with you! I really liked the marsala jeans you tried on, and their customers have been raving about their butter jeans on their social media. I wonder if they’re similar to the soft knit jean from Catherines? I have two pairs of those, and I love them! I can totally see you wearing the marsala jean and coordinating it with so many tops in your closet. I really liked it with the painterly top too, and pairing a long top with skinny leg pants is one of my favorite casual outfits. I’ve really been forcing myself to take a closer look at tops this fall. I have lots of new jeans thanks to the new denim line at Catherines, so now I need to build my top wardrobe! I’ll have to take a closer look at Avenue’s tops instead of always going straight for the dresses.

Thanks for taking us inside the fitting room! In your next video, can you talk more about sizing, fit, and fabric? I know I’d really appreciate that!

    1. I really liked the butter denim, I think they may be a bit thicker than the soft knit ones. I am still thinking about them and have several tops picked out that I would wear them with.

I am wondering if my local Avenue carries different products in store because they do not carry many dresses. Their is a huge casual section and then a more office/corporate section. Perhaps they feel this is the demographic for the ladies here in my beach city. There are several of their dresses online that I would love to try on, but they never have them at my location.

And yes, thank you, thank you for input on the video content. My last one I felt like I rambled and I was timid about speaking inside the fitting room in a normal volume voice. I want these to be unscripted and have my first impressions but I also want to have a goal in mind. It’s funny how you think, oh, this will be simple, and then it really isn’t. I will most definitely keep these points in mind in my next shop with me video. I appreciate it!
