Having basics in my closet has been a bit of a challenge for me. I am like a moth to a flame when it comes to color and print in all aspects of fashion. That goes the same for jewelry and accessories. I recently acquired four basics and unconsciously I created four outfits without realizing I was remixing these pieces. A loose textured ivory top with lace crochet details, a white and black stripe tee, a grey draped jersey skirt, and a distressed denim skirt turned into a wealth of ways to show some of my accessories in a brand new way.
Stripe Tee & Denim Skirt
I know I recently featured this look, but I wanted to show it here again in this line up. With this look I was able to show off a printed scarf and statement ring. This scarf has not been used a lot and I hate when something gets purchased and never used.

With this combo I am able to really show off some of my favorite accessories. This Anthropologie ladder necklace is just stunning and I love how it pops off of the ivory. And then this colorful multi media fabric clutch from AllyOops gets to have a moment of its own here. Although the shoes are in a neutral brown, the fringe completes this basic look and takes it to something special.

I got to wear this look to the Pop Up Shop put on by Reah Norman a few weeks ago & posted it on Instagram (minus the jacket because of the heat). That same ladder necklace shows up again and fringe gets put up to the handbag. Although the color palette is very neutral, the elements of texture keep it so interesting.
Stripe Tee & Jersey Skirt
The basics act as a backdrop here to show off a goldenrod yellow jacket. That floral scarf from the first look comes into action again, but this time tied on my handbag. A fun and colorful statement necklace pulls in some of the yellow and gray and gets to play center stage.

How do you remix your wardrobe? Do you have a lot of basics or do you have a minimum of them like me?
