Floral & Leather

Floral Midi Skirt and Leather Jacket

This floral spring outfit is one that I recently put together for my Spring Color Palettes post with Powder Pink, Fuchsia, & Tangerine.  For that post I had done all the looks in flat-lay and this is it now actually on.  Sometimes when I plan an outfit like that, I try it on and it is just awful, but this time I was beyond thrilled with the results.  The look is heavy on the vintage side of my personal style and I could not be happier.  I love the contrast between the ultra feminine floral skirt and the rustic camel faux leather jacket.

The skirt holds all the keys in this look.  The fuchsia is picked up in the low wedge sandals and the tangerine gets picked up in the quilted handbag with the gold chain.

I would have never thought to place powder pink with this skirt, but yet there it is nestled in the floral print.  It really softens the loud presence of the lower half.  And the ombre necklace could not have been more perfect to complete this look because it has both the powder pink and fuchsia colors in it.

As usual, this jacket has sleeves that are too long for my short waisted body so I just unzipped them and rolled them up in one big cuff.  This is also an almost all second hand outfit with items from Goodwill and Poshmark.Floral Midi Skirt and Leather JacketOutfit Details:

  1. So, I hate that it has taken me this long to find time to catch up on some of your posts. I love following you on Instagram and seeing what you are wearing! I enjoy relating to your love of color and pattern. I am coo-coo-crazy over this! I adore the color combo and the light and airy feel, but yet it feels very fresh and modern as well. Which makes the fact that you thrifted most of it even more exciting. I really need to get back into checking out the thrift shops. I love finding treasures and scoring major deals!

  2. I am in love love love with this outfit! I love everything about it: the palette, the mix of feminine and rugged elements, the pops of color, and that my eye keeps bouncing around from element to element to take everything in. I love playing with palettes too, and I always enjoy seeing how you bring your eye for design into your outfit building. I would totally wear this, exactly as-is. Great styling! And I just adore those shoes!
