Spring Trend: The White Shirt

Spring Trend The White Shirt

I cannot express how excited I am to be writing this post.  Today I am collaborating with Amy of Full Figured & Fashionable, Nina of Curvy Mod, and Sandae of Curvy Girl on the Run to show you four ways to style a Spring trend: The White Shirt.  Although it happens to be a trend at the moment, this piece is a timeless staple in many women’s wardrobes and would never really be out of style.

Between the four of us, we put own spin on this classic piece all while injecting our own personal style.  It shows how versatile this classic item can really be and give you four ways to style your white shirt.

First up to bat is Amy of Full Figured & Fashionable.

This preppy & pretty look is so fresh.  And of course I love the pop of color through her salmon cardigan.  I especially love the way Amy styled this simple pieces with the pencil skirt being figure hugging, the one button on the cardi fastened under the bust, and the rolled sleeves.  That turquoise colored statement necklace is just gorgeous and makes for a very classic color palette with the orange because the two colors are opposite the color wheel.  Be sure to check out Amy’s full post on her blog Full Figured & Fashionable.

Next is Nina of Curvy Mod.

Fun & funky is how I would describe Nina’s look.  Soft leopard pants take the white shirt outside of the stuffy box for sure.  By buttoning the shirt all the way up and pairing it with a ribbon bow, this outfit is so cool.  I love how it is a little sweet and a little sexy with the addition of the black strappy heel.  Stop by Curvy Mod to see more of Nina’s take on her white shirt outfit.

And now it is Sandae of Curvy Girl on the Run’s turn. Sandae with Curvy Girl on the Run

When Sandae sent me her picture I just about fell over as I just posted a look on Monday with this same exact skirt!  Now I can’t wait to wear mine in a look inspired by her.  This sweet & colorful outfit is all pulled together by that amazing watercolor floral clutch.  The yellow of the skirt and turquoise of the necklace and bracelet are all found in the bag.  I love how her nude pumps just blend right in to her skin tone and make her legs look a million miles long.  To see more details on Sandae’s look, click on over to Curvy Girl on the Run.

Lastly, is my look!Designing From My Closet | The White Shirt

Like the other ladies, I took a personal approach to styling my white shirt.  My vintage bohemian style comes through loud and clear here.  Instead of tucking my extra long shirt, I let it flow free and let the bottom buttons up to my waist be open.  I like how it lets the blue patterned pants peek through.  Speaking of the pants, I have featured them several times on the blog, and today I decided to do something a little different with them by pushing them up right below the knee to create a loose fitting capri.  They allow me to show off my tasseled sandals too.  By adding my multi strand necklace and yellow woven clutch, it lends to that global vibe I adore.

  1. Janeane, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this blog collaboration! I think it’s great how each person brought something different to the white t-shirt. The way yous styled your white t-shirt shows your boho style so perfectly. I really like how you left the bottom buttons open and it allows the print of your pants pop up. I also really like how you rolled your pants up to show your cute strappy sandals, that is such a great idea when you want to show off your shoes in an outfit.
