There have been some major changes happening in my life and my wardrobe has been one of them. Even since beginning Designing From My Closet seven months ago, I have been more focused on my personal style and what it means to me. In the midst of that, I have been facing the realities of a shopping addiction and the way that I shop. My usual monthly budget has been boosted by birthday cash, so I have several new additions to my closet that I am just loving.
This vest from Anthropologie really just spoke to me and my sensibilities. I love the structure of it with the fabric belt that cinches in the waist. The details like the embroidery on the top pockets, interesting collar and neckline, and geo pattern give a global vibe. I already have several more looks planned with it. At first, I had the vest all the way buttoned up, then I played around with it and found that by unbuttoning the bottom two buttons, it created a lovely shape, making my waist look smaller. I am wearing a size large.
For this first wear, I chose to go with this eyelet skirt in a punchy citron yellow that picks up on the yellow in the vest. I love the different geo shape of the eyelet and it is a nice departure from the ultra girly feel eyelet usually gives off. I am wearing a size 14 and because I am short waisted, I typically wear things much higher on the torso than most so it will hit me at the right length. That is also why I am able to get away with wearing a smaller size than I usually do.
This necklace means so much to me as it was a birthday gift. I am fortunate enough to have a family member that works at Michael Kors. It is pretty much where all of my MK items I show here on the blog are from. Again, the whole geo theme carries through with the triangle shape. The Coach handbag was a gift from another family member from several years ago and I will treasure it forever.
I felt absolutely radiant in this look and I am gaining more confidence showing my upper arms to the world. Seeing so many other lovely plus size and inbetweenie bloggers and models do it has really opened my eyes to see how you carry yourself is where your beauty comes from. I am so blessed to have people in my life that have given me these items for my birthday and that makes it even more special.
