My Journey into 40

Last week I was treated by my husband and was taken away to the Harrah’s Resort in Valley Center, CA in San Diego county for my 40th birthday.  Although it was a little early as the real day is coming up this Monday, it was the perfect time for both of us to get away.

On the way, we stopped off first at the Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall where I took a peek around in the Gap.  Surprisingly enough, I kept to looking for items that would fill gaps (sorry for the pun) in my wardrobe and not go hog wild like I usually do.

I snapped a quick selfie in the fitting room as my husband sat outside the room and asked me what I was doing because he could see my feet.  Ah, the life of a blogger, I just had to document this cute and comfy outfit.  The jacket is the same one I wore on Friday’s post only this time unbelted.  The Anthropologie skirt was another score on Poshmark.  I ended up getting a pair of much needed jeans that actually fit and some shorts.  We will see if shorts make their way onto the blog, as they are not something I wear often.  Perhaps if I do some self tanner!

Next stop of Old Town Temecula where they have wood plank lined sidewalks with lavender growing everywhere.  We stopped and looked in several antique shops and boutiques that were so cute.

I especially fell in love with a boutique called Shop Girl.  This blue lacy top just called my name.

The displays in the quaint shop were so inviting like this old sewing machine table.

And these plates and ceramic lids were way too adorable not to take a picture of as I in the middle of my transaction.

And on to the final destination was the hotel itself.  This bed was so comfy.

On day 2 I wore my tropical skirt that was found at Goodwill of Orange County and a denim jacket.  I cannot express how comfortable it is to wear skirts as I breezed around the resort and casino all day.

The day could not have been more picturesque.

The last day I slipped on a long maxi dress (another Poshmark purchase from Sandae of Curvy Girl on the Run) and a vest.  Again, so comfortable and easy.

If you are one of my regular readers, you can see that I totally skipped Mondays post and am super late posting this one today.  I am blaming it on my brain still being on vacation.

I have to admit that I am having some issues with facing the fact that I am turning 40.  I really did not think I would.  It isn’t the number or the actual age, it’s more of reevaluating what is important to me and if I want to make changes.  Like having the urge to cut my hair and who I want to associate myself with.  The other biggie is not feeling like I have accomplished enough, but I think I am not alone in this one and I wonder if anyone ever feels satisfied with this.

Onwards and upwards!

Today’s Postivity Note

I think I like who I am becoming.

Be Blessed!
