I know I am a day late to show my green for St. Patrick’s Day, but here it is in all it’s glory. This dress has been sitting in my closet for several weeks now and with the temperature rising to 89, I figured it was time it came out to play.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this dress in Yvonne’s Closet on Poshmark was that it was reminiscent of a few Diane von Furstenberg dresses I had been drooling over. The overall green and white abstract floral pattern just drew me in to the point where I knew it would be something I had to have in my closet.
It came with a matching fabric belt, but for this time, I decided to swap it out for this obi wrap belt I just got at Lane Bryant (black version). It is supposed to be worn the other way around, but I liked it this way for this outfit.
The dress needs to be altered, bringing the straps up so it will accommodate my short waist. This will eliminate some of that extra poof around the bust and back above the belt. It will be an easy fix (once I get around to it!)
I mixed up the patterns with the chevron in the clutch and then just used the tan as a jumping off point when I selected the belt, shoes, and necklace.
Speaking of the necklace, this Charming Charlie wood bead one has proven to span several styles and looks I have worn.
All in all, I just love how I was able to still get the look I love on my current budget and someday, I know I will be adding some DVF to my wardrobe.
Have you been able to find a piece that is inspired by one of your favorite designers?
