This is a project long time coming. I have been super busy at work and a rainy weekend allowed me to take the time and do a ReFashion. For this fashion redo, I am taking a basic white popover top and turning it into a lace embellished sleeveless shirt.
I found this Target top at Goodwill of Orange County several months ago. It still had the tags on it, I was lazy and did not try it on in the store. I have a thing about having a stock of white shirts because I love to have them for layering some of my bolder patterned jackets and cardigans.
When I tried it on at home, it was way too tight in the upper arms and when I was taking it off, I did a little ooopsy and tore the seam at the shoulder. NOOOOOOO!
My first reaction was to wack off the arms and have a sleeveless top, but I found this lace ribbon in my sewing/craft stash and thought it would add a little more interest without taking over the whole idea of having a basic white top.
The wacking of the arms!
I then tucked in the portion of the arms that I left on and top stitched around the arm holes.
I did a double line of stitch for a little added design.
