Being Neutral

I admit, I am full blown attached to wearing color.  While many women swear by wearing black, I have a true affection for adorning myself in a range of tones from red to purple and everything in between.

When I saw in the most recent issue of People Style Watch I was thrilled when I saw that suede was a 2015 Spring trend.  A recent purchase off of Poshmark from Kate of All Things Kate made my suede dreams come true.  A camel colored skirt in a midi length and trumpet shape was so unique to what I currently had in my closet, that I knew it was part of what I am developing in my new style.Ikat Top with Suede Skirt

Now I am not really sure how Kate wore this beauty, but I went with all neutral colors for its first wear.  A black and white Ikat top added a funky twist to a very traditional skirt shape, giving me that vintage bohemian look that I am looking to achieve.

With so much texture and pattern, the all neutral palette gives me a new appreciation for laying low on the color.  The tan, black, & white outfit is a breath of fresh air to me.  I felt elegant, yet relaxed in the luxurious suede that swished as I walked.  There is just a touch of color through the stone statement necklace that lends well with the style.Ikat Top and Suede Skirt

I can’t believe I am going to say this, but I am working towards having a capsule wardrobe.  Mixing and matching not only stretches the use of each garment, it also forces me to flex my creative muscles by putting items together I may not have ever tried.  In honor of using four pieces I have used before, I am linking up with Lauren at Fizz & Frosting for Mix It Monday if you want to go on over and check out how others are mixing their wardrobes.  See how I already styled this necklace and boots and then this same Ikat top and zebra print clutch in previous posts below. Have you ever thought of having a capsule wardrobe?  Do you stick to neutrals or do you venture only in color?

Today’s Postivity Note (more funny than positive, but my thoughts for today!)

The fear of wasting a great outfit on an insignificant day.

Be Blessed!
