Recently I have been playing around with different color combinations in outfits. Last Friday I came up with four looks that go with the color wine. This outfit of solid colors including beige, olive, puce (purple-brown color), and cobalt blue. A way to keep an all solid outfit interesting and from falling flat is the use of texture. In this case: Ruffles!

The necklace and booties are two very few purchases since my 30 Days No Shopping challenge. I almost feel like I am being overly analytical about spending money on clothing now. It is like they have to go through weeks of scrutiny before I actually pull the trigger. Although the cost is an issue, but it is not the only factor. I am willing to spend a little more money on certain items if they fill a need or void in my wardrobe.
At first glance you would not think that this necklace would fit into a category of something that is versatile, but I am finding that I am wearing this guy a lot. I have already worn it four times last week. It can be dressed up or down, and is just amazing. (See it again in another outfit in the fourth look of my More Wine Please post). The booties have texture too with tiny pierced holes in the suede. They are very comfortable and fit my low heel criteria.
If I had to sum this outfit up, it is just ME! Since the beginning of Designing From My Closet, I have become more aware of my personal style and what I am trying to achieve. I like how it projects a creative vibe for me being an interior designer.
Do you have a list of criteria you follow for when you shop?
Today’s Postivity Note
Worrying won’t stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.
