Wine, burgundy, marsala, maroon…whatever you call the it, I love a deep red earthy tone. With Valentine’s Day coming tomorrow, I am sure many people will be dawning this color of love. I even sported it in my Valentine’s Day Picnic post last week. But what about after Valentine’s Day? I wanted to play around with some wine colored pants from Cool Gal Blue to see what color combinations I could come up with from other items in my closet.
Looking forward to the Spring season, I put four looks together with the wine color.
Wine, Navy, & Yellow
Wine Jeggings: Cool Gal Blue | Nautical Navy Jacket: Anthropologie (similar) | Yellow V-Neck Tee: LOFT (similar) | Yellow Peep Toe Pumps: Nine West via Deja New (similar) | Gold Chain Necklace: JCPenny (similar)
Talk about primary colors! This is super nautical and the bright colors are so much fun. I could see this look going into summer too. Style tip: a long gold chain necklace gets doubled up to make a double strand short one.
Wine, Light Pink, & Tan
This look totally softens the burgundy pants with its light top. A little bit of print is thrown in via some leopard heels.
Wine, Cobalt Blue, & Black
Wine Jeggings: Cool Gal Blue | Meuse Tee by Akemi + Kin: Anthropologie (similar) | A.n.a. Drape-Front Faux-Leather Jacket: JCPenny | Faux Stone Cord Necklace: Forever 21 | Navy Pointy Toe Flats: Gap (similar)
This look is a little more dramatic and edgy with its darker tones. This Forever 21 necklace is one of my favs right now.
Wine, Gray, & Mint
Wine Jeggings: Cool Gal Blue | Gray & White Striped Baseball Tee: Walmart (similar) | Mint Cardigan: Walmart (similar) | Slabstone Necklace: Anthropologie via Poshmark vendor zoradorable (similar) | Silver Flats: Old Navy (similar)
I like the sporty, relaxed feel of this look. Playing off what is really complimentary colors of red and green or in other words Christmas colors, this really works beautifully. Another statement necklace I got off Poshmark and I am set.
While I am not really a wine drinker, or know much about wine, I am ready to say “More Wine Please” in the wardrobe department. It is a really versatile color and I could have probably come up with another four, maybe five more combinations. These particular wine jeggings from Cool Gal Blue are super soft and have a great rise for me being short waisted. Love that! For reference, I am wearing them in a size 18.
A big thanks to Cool Gal Blue for lending me these jeggings to use for this post. All opinions about them are 100% my own.
Do you try to play around with different color combinations? What have you tried lately?
