For my first post on Designing from my Closet, I wanted to pull inspiration from interior design to create an outfit. I chose a space close to me which happens to be my living room.
The colors and mix of patterns led me to this fun outfit. This space in my home represents me so well that I knew I would feel totally comfortable wearing a version of it. The long loose fitting tunic under the more fitted waist length cardigan causing a bit of a flounce gives me a flattering shape while covering the tum tum while wearing skinny jeans. With the cardi left open, the long white “panel” down the front along with the long necklace gives the illusion of height. I have never paired this cardigan with this handbag and I absolutely love this combo. So this inspiration thing really does work!
The gold bangle set is one of my favs. I have found that getting bracelets at specialty plus size shops carry ones with larger diameters making it easier to fit over my hand. I do however wish I would have just ordered the petite version of the Rockstar jeans from Old Navy, but I tried these on in store and loved them. I have a bit of an issue with the rise due to me being short-waisted, but its not too bad. My only real issue with them is that after five washes I am still turning blue from the dye. I seriously look like a blueberry when I take them off at night. I hope that goes away soon.
